EVENT TIMELINE
?August 1 - September 30, 2025: Applications will be accepted.
?Early October 2025: A selection committee will meet to review the applications.
?By the end of October 2025: Deserving recipients will be contacted and notified.
?November 1 - 30, 2025: Each day in November, a deserving recipient will be featured and their stories will be shared.
?Starting in November 2025 throughout 2026: The recipients will receive their home improvement award at a suitable time arranged by the deserving applicant and the donating business.

The Bremer Team's "30 Days for 30 Vets" event helps 30 veterans by providing essential home repairs and improvements valued at over $200,000 donated by several local businesses in McHenry County. This initiative showcases McHenry County's generosity and gratitude towards those who served.
HOW IT WORKS
Complete the application to nominate a veteran in need of home repairs who resides in McHenry County.
Throughout the 30 days of November, we are excited to announce a deserving veteran each day as the winner in one of our home improvement categories, generously sponsored by local businesses in McHenry County and surrounding communities.
WHY WE CREATED 30 DAYS FOR 30 VETS
In the U.S., many veterans face housing challenges, with an estimated 1.5 million veterans living in poverty and needing basic home repairs to ensure safe and adequate living conditions.
In response to these pressing needs, various organizations and community groups across the country have launched programs aimed at assisting veterans with home repairs and improvements. These initiatives not only address the physical safety and comfort of veterans' homes but also contribute to their overall well-being and dignity. By providing essential repairs and upgrades, these programs help veterans lead more stable and independent lives, demonstrating a collective commitment to honoring and supporting those who have sacrificed for their nation.
FILL OUT THE APPLICATION TO NOMINATE A VET IN NEED
To nominate yourself or another deserving veteran for the "30 Days for 30 Vets" initiative, please fill out the application form provided. Ensure to include detailed information about the veteran's current living conditions and the types of home repairs or improvements needed. Your nomination could help transform a veteran's home and significantly improve their quality of life. We are accepting applications from August 1 through September 30.

We're currently looking for donations of ANYTHING that can make a veteran’s life a little easier, safer, or more comfortable.That could be:
?? Windows, doors, or roofing
?? Landscaping, tree removal, or yard clean-up ??
?? Hot water heaters, AC units, or furnaces
?? Professional trade services (electrician, plumber, carpenter, handyman, etc.) ??
?? Flooring, painting, or general repairs
?? Cleaning services or junk removal
?? Furniture, decor, or appliances ??
?? Meals, gift cards, or self-care items ??
Or anything else you’re able to give.
