Encore Memory Care at Crystal Lake Celebrates
Ribbon Cutting for the Little Free Library
[Crystal Lake, 8/27/25] Encore Memory Care at Crystal Lake, located at 495 Alexandra Blvd. in Crystal Lake, proudly hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 27 to celebrate the unveiling of their new Little Free Library. The event was co-hosted by the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce.
Residents of Encore Memory Care played an active role in helping to create the Little Free Library, which is now open to the public and situated near the sidewalk outside the community. The inviting space encourages neighbors and visitors alike to participate in the tradition of “take a book, leave a book,” fostering connections through the simple joy of reading.
“We hope the Little Free Library serves as a gathering point for the community and an opportunity for residents, families, and neighbors to enjoy and share books,” said Vicki Botefuhr, Director of Sales & Marketing at Encore Memory Care at Crystal Lake. “It is a meaningful way to bring people together and celebrate the importance of stories across generations.”
The initiative has been recognized as a thoughtful addition to the neighborhood, one that encourages a love of reading, nurtures community bonds, and provides opportunities for lifelong learning.
